Finance Fellow - Human Frontier Collective (US)

ABOUT THE ROLE Scale AI is inviting a Finance Fellow to join the Human Frontier Collective (HFC), a fellowship that brings together leading researchers and domain experts to shape the future of AI. In this role you will apply rigorous financial analysis to evaluate and improve generative AI systems, ensuring that these models produce accurate, compliant, and actionable insights for finance professionals. The fellowship is a fully remote, six‑month independent contractor engagement with the possibility of extension, designed for experts who want to blend deep financial expertise with cutting‑edge AI research. WHAT YOU'LL DO You will collaborate with Scale’s research teams and partner AI labs to design and test complex financial scenarios that benchmark AI accuracy in valuation, forecasting, and risk assessment. You will conduct detailed reviews of model outputs, providing actionable feedback that informs model refinement and enhances market relevance. Your analyses will feed into specialized projects in financial modeling, asset pricing, and equity research, helping to shape the next generation of AI tools for finance. You will co‑author technical reports and research papers, contributing to Scale’s public research portfolio and elevating your academic visibility. In addition, you will participate in the HFC community, sharing insights with a global network of innovators and staying current on emerging AI and finance trends. Finally, you will help define and iterate on evaluation frameworks that align AI performance with regulatory and industry standards. WHAT YOU'LL NEED You hold a PhD, Master’s, or BBA in Finance, Economics, or a related field, and possess at least five years of professional experience in FP&A, investment banking, portfolio management, or financial consulting. Your background includes advanced financial modeling, DCF analysis, asset pricing, and risk assessment, with a proven track record of delivering high‑quality analytical work. You are detail‑oriented, innovative, and comfortable translating complex financial concepts into clear, actionable insights. Strong communication skills enable you to collaborate effectively with data scientists, product managers, and external partners. While prior AI experience is not mandatory, a genuine interest in AI and a willingness to learn are essential. You are authorized to work in the United States and will operate as a 1099 independent contractor.
