Finance Fellow - Human Frontier Collective (UK)

ABOUT THE ROLE Scale AI is inviting a Finance Fellow to join the Human Frontier Collective, a global network that brings together leading researchers and domain experts to shape the future of artificial intelligence. In this role, you will apply your deep financial expertise to evaluate, refine, and validate generative AI systems that support critical financial decision‑making. The fellowship is a fully remote, 1099 independent contractor engagement lasting six months, with the possibility of extension based on project success and mutual interest. As a fellow, you will collaborate with Scale’s research team and partner AI labs, contributing to high‑impact projects that push the boundaries of AI in finance. WHAT YOU'LL DO You will design and execute rigorous financial simulations to test AI models in valuation, forecasting, and risk assessment, ensuring that outputs meet market relevance and regulatory compliance. You will provide detailed, actionable feedback to improve model accuracy and interpretability, working closely with data scientists and engineers in asynchronous, cross‑functional teams. You will contribute to the creation of technical reports and research papers, co‑authoring publications that elevate both your own academic profile and Scale’s thought leadership. You will participate in the Human Frontier Collective community, attending virtual workshops, peer reviews, and strategy sessions that foster interdisciplinary collaboration. You will also mentor junior fellows and interns, sharing best practices in financial modeling and AI evaluation. WHAT YOU'LL NEED You hold a PhD, Master’s, or BBA in Finance, Economics, or a related field, with at least five years of professional experience in FP&A, investment banking, portfolio management, or financial consulting. You possess advanced skills in financial modeling, discounted cash flow analysis, asset pricing, market analysis, and risk assessment. Your analytical mindset is detail‑oriented and innovative, with a strong commitment to collaboration and continuous learning. You are comfortable communicating complex financial concepts to technical audiences and have a proven track record of delivering high‑quality research or consulting work. While prior exposure to AI is not mandatory, a genuine interest in AI applications and a willingness to learn new technologies are essential. You are authorized to work in your country and can commit to a flexible schedule of 10–40 hours per week.
